Paul Shogren, The new director of Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation, formerly of the Laurels of Hendersonville. He obviously earned the position through hard work and major truth bending at the Laurels.
( Dr. Larry Joe Russell happens to be the medical director of the Laurels and one of the owners of Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation, and also my Mothers last Doctor.)
Mr Shogren, called me about a week and a half ago. I had written him a letter, asking him several questions about the events that led to my Mothers death. Mr. Shogren was very sorry for the loss of my Mother, and wanted to help my family and I reach some sort of closure. As far as people go he was very pleasant on the phone. He seemed almost sincere in his desire to help me. We spoke for a little while, and I told him about the frustrations I had experienced with the misinformation being provided by Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. I was assured that he would look into the situation and call me back by Monday. That was last week, and I still have not received that call. I guess Mr. Shogren was not all that anxious to help after all.
I also sent a copy of the letter to Gail Maloney of the NCDHHS, and she has not even bothered to respond at all. That in itself does not surprise me. I'm sure that Mr. Shogren spoke to Gail Maloney, and they decided that it was best not to call me back.
It wouldn't surprise me if the NC Board of Nursing, NCDHHS and The NC Medical Board all got together and decided to leave things as they are. There is absolutly no desire on any of their parts to provide any answers. Especially if it might be incriminating to one of their members.
I have six simple questions that would put the whole thing to rest. So far not one person has answered any of them. I wonder what they are afraid of ? The truth will set you free!
